    Town & Country Holiday Observance

Town & Country Disposal observes six major U.S. holidays each year: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. These holidays may affect your regular trash pickup schedule, but our goal is to keep your service consistent and predictable. When a holiday lands on a Saturday or Sunday, your normal pickup day does not change at all.

    How Holiday Weeks Work

If a holiday falls on your normal pickup day, your trash will be collected the next business day instead. Only the holiday day shifts—the rest of the week stays on its normal schedule.

For example, if a holiday is on Monday, Monday routes will run Tuesday along with the regular Tuesday pickups. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday all stay on their normal schedule.

If a holiday falls on a Friday, the pickup day shifts to Thursday, and that route runs along with the regular Thursday pickup.

    Holiday Pickup Instructions

If a holiday changes your regular pickup day, please place your garbage at the curb the evening of your normal scheduled pickup day—not the morning of your delayed collection day.

Our crews begin collecting holiday-delayed routes as early as 1:00 a.m. before continuing with the regularly scheduled routes for that day. Waiting until the morning of your delayed collection could result in your garbage being missed.

    Example

If a holiday falls on Monday:

    • Monday customers will be collected on Tuesday.
    • Monday customers should place their garbage curbside Monday evening.
    • Our crews begin collecting the delayed Monday route at 1:00 a.m. Tuesday, then continue with the regular Tuesday route afterward.

Important: If you wait until Tuesday morning to place your garbage at the curb, your collection may have already been completed.
